ACADEMIC CONTRIBUTION
This project demonstrates that known algorithms from computational geometry (Haversine), multi-objective optimisation, and demand-aware pricing can be applied to a novel three-sided logistics marketplace domain where no such solution previously existed in Estonia.
The combination of a production-ready logistics marketplace and explainable algorithmic components makes Saya suitable both as a commercial platform and as an academic research project in the areas of:
-
Geo-aware courier matching using geographic distance optimisation
-
Multi-objective courier recommendation and offer ranking
-
Dynamic pricing assistance for logistics marketplaces
-
Machine-learning-based ETA prediction for delivery planning
-
Logistics analytics and explainable operational metrics
-
Intelligent decision support for customers, couriers, and administrators
The platform combines traditional software engineering practices with algorithmic optimisation and machine-learning techniques to improve logistics efficiency, recommendation quality, pricing transparency, and delivery planning.
